Exhibition Opening of "CK's Willows" by Ceakay Ballyhoo at Litho - the tiny Art(ist) Café

 

Dear friends,

Summer is slowly coming to an end, the first leaves are falling on the still blooming earth and are already partially covering the ground. CK has a fondness for trees, especially the willow, and she has put together 13 wonderful pictures (RL photography and watercolor painting) in a small exhibition showing in September & October at LiThO - the tiny Art(ist) Café.

"The willow is my second favourite tree. I love to capture willows because of their beautiful slender leaves that sway in the wind., the pollard that is so typical of a Dutch meadow landscape, and the light that shines so beautifully on those leaves.

Willows are often big and majestic and make me think of old guardians who are looking out for everyone. They shelter people and animals and stand guard at the water's edge. I hope you will enjoy my expression of love for them."

Opening Party: Portraits of the Gods - Exhibition by Pagan Lane

 

There are many gods. Some believe in the Christian God, some are fond of Hinduism, some believe in the old gods of antiquity or norse mythology. And some do not believe in gods in the original sense at all.

We are happy to announce, that Pagan Lane will be exhibiting his paintings interpreting the various gods mentioned in mythology at
LiThO - the tiny Art(ist) Café in June and July.

Pagan describes his artworks as follows:

Dear friends,

The first buds are slowly sprouting from the ground, the days are getting longer, brighter and warmer. Spring is just around the corner! More sun, more warmth, more "being outside", more "good mood moments" - all this can inspire us and give us inner peace.

Lotus has captured some of these moments - and captured them on canvas and we are very proud to be able to exhibit them at LiThO!

"PEACE IS - A moment in time that connects you to the spirit of peace.

A feeling of joy or awe, something that evokes a breath that rejuvenates you and gives you a sense of freedom of stress even for a brief moment.

In our current climate there is an over abundance of heavy overbearing strain that lingers and grows, conflict and hate have overrun so many corners of our existence it is hard to remember to not only look for but remember those moments of peace that drop by drop keep our souls turned to hope and love.

I invite you to take time to think about those moments that give you some peace, are they in nature? a good book? social? Please feel free to share what gives you peace with me it is such a lovely way to get to know people.

Let's Bring out those hidden lights of hope that give us a calming wash of peace."

An exciting year goes to an end, while the new one already awaits us! Some of us may start the year longing for someone or something. Some of us may already have everything their heart desires. But we all know this feeling of longing.

"Longing - Have you ever missed a person? The time of longing seems endless. Every minute passes slowly. Even the sky is blue, flowers blossom, your spring breeze freezes still. 

In ancient, many women were left behind. They were waiting for their lovers day by day, year by year drowned by loneliness, swallowed by longing. Poems written with love and mercy, drew a soft line to the sketches of these pitiful ladies."

Moonsoul is a professional sim builder and designer with her own firm Ammos Homes. Photography is her recently acquired passion and hobby. She expresses herself and her emotions through visual art and she has taken part in several exhibits in Second Life. Her focus is to make us see the Second Life world through her eyes. She centers her photos in landscapes and uses intense shadows, monochrome tones and contrasts. She is passionate about her work and her motto is “Always keep learning”. LiThO is an adaption of the owner and founder names of this place (Lizzy & Tom) and the wording Lithography, which stands for the oldest flat printing process and was invented in 1798 by the German Alois Senefelder. It was one of the most widely used printing techniques for colored printed matter in the 19th century. Artists such as Francisco de Goya, Salvador Dalí and Pablo Picasso were also fascinated by the technical possibilities. Joan Miró also proved to be a sovereign master of lithographic techniques.
